The works of Kazys Varnelis, an American-Lithuanian painter and collector, can be found in various museums across the United States: the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Akron Art Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the University of Iowa Museum of Art, and in private collections.
However, to gain a more comprehensive understanding of this artist's works, you don't need to travel that far. You can explore the artist's works at the Kazys Varnelis House-Museum, located near the Vilnius Town Hall.
The museum, dedicated to Kazys Varnelis, a master of optical art without equal in Lithuania, also exhibits the collection amassed by the artist: historical prints, maps, Renaissance and Baroque furniture, sculptures, and applied art pieces from various countries, including the United States.
In one of the oldest buildings in the Town Hall Square, the Small Guild House, the Kazys Varnelis House-Museum was established and became a branch of the National Museum in 2003.
