Located just 30km from Krakow and accessible by Krakow's public transport, a picturesque town of Niepołomice houses a 14th century castle, built by Kazimierz the Great as a defensive structure and at the same time a hunting castle. Crown conventions and courts were held here, privileges were granted, embassies were received, and above all, hunting took place in the nearby forest. Today the castle houses a restaurant, a hotel and many cultural events take place there
